Hamas threatens escalation | “The occupation march should not approach east Jerusalem”
A leader of the Islamist Palestinian Hamas movement threatened Israel today with a new escalation of violence, if the Israeli far-right holds a march in East Jerusalem.
“We warn the occupation not to approach (East) Jerusalem and the Mosque Square,” said Khalil al-Haya, a Hamas official in power in the Gaza Strip.
We hope that Thursday does not become May 10, he added, referring to the beginning of the escalation of violence between Hamas and Israel, which led to an 11-day war.
