French Ambassador to Cyprus | Cyprus-France defence cooperation is excellent
The excellent cooperation between Cyprus and France in the field of defence and security was highlighted by the new French Ambassador to Cyprus, Salin Grenet-Catalano, during a meeting she had today with the Minister of Defence, Charalambos Petridis. The French Ambassador also ensured that the ways to improve existing agreements further will be assessed.
According to a statement from the Ministry of Defence, Mr. Petridis congratulated Ms. Grenet-Catalano on taking office and thanked France for its multilevel support to the Republic of Cyprus. He also referred to the excellent relations between the two countries as well as the defence-military agreement currently in force, which contributes to the creation and maintenance of security and stability in the Eastern Mediterranean.
Mr. Petridis and Ms. Grenet-Catalano also discussed the developments in the Eastern Mediterranean and Turkey’s ongoing destabilizing actions.
The French Ambassador ensured that the high level of cooperation will continue and that ways to improve existing agreements further will be assessed.
