In the attempt to further strengthen the Hellenic Police Corps in the Prefecture of Evros in the coming months, with 250 new border guards, in strengthening the country’s borders by extending the fence and Greece’s determination to defend peace and stability but At the same time and in the defense of its borders from any threat, the Minister of Civil Protection, Takis Theodorikakos, referred to his statements from Kastanies.
During his visit, the Minister of Civil Protection stated that the Greek-Turkish border is also the border of the European Union, that so far 37 km of the fence have been completed, while he made special reference to the recent agreement with France. Among other things, the Minister will visit the local operational center of Vyssa and the new regional operational center of the Police in Winter, the 126th outpost in Soufli and the new section of the fence in Feres. It will also go to the airport “DEMOKRITOS” of Alexandroupolis where the regional camera business center operates, which has a picture of three business centers (Soufli, Tychero, Feres), as well as the balloon Zeppelin of FRONTEX, with a picture of the sea.
