The contract for the implementation of the National Crisis Management System and National Database in Civil Protection was signed on Wednesday, 12 March, at the Ministry of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection, in the presence of the Minister Mr Vasilis Kikilias.
The event was attended by the Deputy Minister of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection, Mr Evangelos Tournas, the Deputy Commander of ESKEDIK, Fire Brigadier Mr Anastasios Michalopoulos, the Managing Director of the Information Society, Mr Stavros Asthenidis, and the CEO of Nova ICT, Mr Alexander Bregiannis.
The primary objective of the system being developed by Nova ICT is to enable Civil Protection officers to make optimal decisions, organise all the available resources, and manage all incidents, with access to high-quality and accurate information and data.
The project serves as the backbone of the digital infrastructure for disaster management and prevention and forms part of the Integrated Risk Management and Prevention Information System, with a total budget of €72.3 million under the AEGIS programme.
By developing an information system based on advanced technologies and AI, all Civil Protection bodies will have access to high-quality, accurate information and data to support decision-making, resource allocation, and the effective management of all incidents.
This ensures real-time updates and timely coordination in the field, enabling the optimal handling of emergency situations.
