Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah al Sisi attended the inauguration of the third edition of the Egypt Defense Expo (EDEX 2023) on Monday 04 December 2023.
Representatives of Egyptian and international companies of the defence industry, including companies from Greece and Cyprus, are showcasing advanced equipment at the biggest exhibition of the African continent.
Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli and Defence Minister Mohamed Zaki, as well as several ministers and senior state officials, attended the inauguration of the EDEX 2023.

During the inauguration, Sisi witnessed the launching of the Egyptian frigate “Al Jabbar” via video conference as part of proceedings of the opening of the EDEX 2023, taking place from December 4-7 at the Egypt International Exhibition Center (EIEC).
EDEX, the only defence and security exhibition in Africa and the Middle East, is estimated that will attract approximately 35,000 military personnel, government officials, industry professionals, and international delegations, while it features a fully-hosted international military VIP Delegation Program.
Arabian World Events organizes the event with the full support of the Egyptian Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Military Production, and the Arab Industrialization Organization.
With reference to the Cypriot and Greek presence, the Cypriot CyRIC along with Greek pavilion, comprised of the Association of Hellenic Aerospace, Security and Defense Industry Group (HASDIG) and the companies THEON SENSORS, SCYTALIS, MILTECH, EAB, EAS, SAS, UCANDRONE and DEFEA, attracted the attendance of a large number of stakeholders from the international defence ecosystem.
Regarding CyRIC, a delegation from the Cypriot Ministry of Defence visited its pavilion under the presence of the Ministry’s General Director, Andreas Loukas, witnessing first-hand the company’s innovation.
