The special envoy of the UN Secretary General for the Cyprus issue has arrived in Cyprus and is already working on the matter.

Maria Ángela Holguin Quellar met on Monday morning with Special Representative Colin Stewart before seeing Nikos Christodoulidis and Ersin Tatar in person for the first time.

The President of the Republic of Cyprus will welcome the special envoy this morning, while a few hours later, Maria Holgin will also meet the Turkish Cypriot leader.

Mrs. Holguin Quellar will also have a series of contacts with the negotiators of the two sides, representatives of civil society, members of the diplomatic community and the Committee on Missing Persons.

During her stay in Cyprus, she will visit the buffer zone and the enclosed area of ​​Famagusta.
