On Wednesday morning, the President of Cyprus, Nikos Anastasiadis, travelled to Mati together with Kyriakos Mitsotakis, in order to be informed about the progress of the works carried out at the Memorial Park thanks to a donation from the Republic of Cyprus.
The Cypriot President had the opportunity to refer to the fatal crash of the Phantom in the sea area off Andravida, which resulted in the two Greek pilots’ death.
At the same time, he stated that his country will donate an amount of 2.5 million euros to the Hellenic Air Force as a sign of solidarity for this tragic event.
Mr. Anastasiadis stated that unfortunately his visit also coincides with another tragic event, the loss of two heroic pilots, so again as a sign of solidarity with the Hellenic Republic and the Greek people, the Cypriot Government has decided to donate 2.5 million to the Hellenic Air Force.
