A Russian journalist who was arrested in Nicosia on Thursday is being deported from Cyprus, after his residence permit was revoked for security reasons, CNA reports citing diplomatic sources.
A second person was with him, who was released.
According to the same sources, the Russian had resisted during his arrest. The sources rejected claims that he was abused during the arrest.
As CNA reports, the Republic of Cyprus informed the Russian side accordingly and they are currently in contact at the appropriate service-diplomatic level with the aim of optimally resolving the case.
