Croatia | Procurement of RGW 90 anti-tank weapons

On September 21, the government of Croatia approved the procurement of RGW 90 (MATADOR) anti-tank weapon systems worth EUR 3.9 million from Dynamit Nobel Defence.

The Ministry of Defence of Croatia did not disclose many details regarding the procurement, including the number of RGW 90 anti-tank weapon systems or the delivery dates.

The weapon system in question is a product jointly developed by the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF), and the Defence Science and Technology Agency (DSTA), in collaboration with the joint team Rafael Advanced Defence Systems and Dynamit Nobel Defence.

The RGW 90 will be delivered to Croatian light infantry units, airborne troops, and Special Operation Forces while, according to Croatian Defence Minister, Mario Banožić, the said weapon system fully meets the requirements of the Croatian Armed Forces.

The RGW 90 is a family of portable infantry weapon systems that gives dismounted forces the capability to conduct various types of missions, such as:

  • Anti-tank
  • Anti-vehicle
  • Anti-structure
  • Anti-personnel
  • Smokescreen
  • Illumination
  • Training

RGW 90 HH-T (HEAT/HESH -Tandem)

  • Warhead: High Explosive Anti-Tank and High Explosive Squash Head – (tandem)
  • Caliber: 90 mm

  • Length: 0,96 m HESH mode / 1,15 m HEAT mode (extracted spike)

RGW 90 HH (HEAT/HESH)

The said weapon system is recoilless and single-soldier operated. It can also be fired from enclosed and confined spaces, while it can feature both adaptable fire control sight and night and thermal sight.
