Update
The accident is confirmed to have occurred during landing. The F16 was abandoned on the ground by the pilot.
The bad weather conditions probably had a negative impact contributing to the loss of the aircraft control during the landing phase. The pilot according to our info is an experienced pilot (captain in rank).
The damage to the aircraft is unknown.
Initial Story
According to information, an F-16 Block 52+ aircraft of the Hellenic Air Force crashed in Andravida a while ago, near the 117th combat wing.
According to what the Greek media broadcast, the pilot is safe after he used the emergency launch system of the aircraft.
The accident occurred during a training flight, while the causes of the crash remain unknown.
