Biden nominates General Lloyd Austin as Defence Secretary – VIDEO

Democrat-elect US President Joe Biden has selected retired General Lloyd Austin, an African-American who retired in 2016 after 46 years of service, for the position of Defence Minister, wrote the news website Politico, citing three informed sources, yesterday Monday.

After he retired, Austin became a board member of Raytheon Technologies, one of the major contracting companies for the Pentagon, a member of the board of Nucor, the largest US steel company, and the health services company Tenet.

He has also founded his own consulting firm, Austin Strategy Group. He also works for the New York-based charity Carnegie Corporation.
