The Turkish Ministry of Defence announced that in a special ceremony held in the occupied port of Kyrenia, 3 newly built Ares FB35 (35 FPB) vessels have been delivered to the so-called coast guard of the Turkish Administration in Cyprus.

The Ares FB35 (35 FPB) is a Turkish-made coastal patrol boat. In 2021, the Turkish company Ares signed an agreement with the Turkish government for the supply of 122 FB35 boats, worth more than 70 million euros. A hundred and five of them are intended for the Turkish port and the rest for the General Directorate of Defence. This is the largest supply of boats from Turkey.
It is noted that the company Ares is the manufacturer of the Armed Unmanned Surface Vessel (AUSV) ULAQ.

The Turkish authorities claim that they intend to use them to fight illegal immigration and illegal trade in the Black Sea and the Eastern Mediterranean as well as for search and rescue missions.
