Haiti remains in a state of emergency after gangs stormed prisons and thousands of inmates escaped.
Gang members are calling for the resignation of Prime Minister Ariel Henri, who has not been seen in public since his trip to Kenya, where he asked for international help to restore security in his country, which has been plagued by criminal gang activity.
In addition to prisons and the airport, other government buildings were attacked, notably police stations and the Central Bank building. In the capital, gangs have set up barricades to control traffic on the streets.
At least 12 people have died in the latest outbreak of violence in Haiti, but the death toll is feared to be much higher, Euronews reports.
