The Ministry of Defence announced that, due to the emergency conditions created due to the coronavirus pandemic, and given that the measures taken against the spread of the coronavirus have led to changes in procedures followed by the competent services of the state, as a result of which a significant number of candidates failed to undergo the required medical examinations and obtain the relevant certifications on time, the following was decided:
(a) The Health Examination is postponed and will be held only for those candidates who will be invited to sign a “Recruitment Contract”, based on their Position on the Final List and taking into account the vacancies.
(b) Those candidates who have undergone all medical examinations and obtained the relevant certificates after 3.12.2020 will not be required to repeat them at a later stage.
(c) In the event that a Professional Soldier (SYOP) candidate attends the Health Examination that will take place before the signing of the relevant Contract, without all the required medical examinations/certificates, or in case, during the Health Examination, he/she is not deemed fit for service in the National Guard (first or second categories, I/1 or I/2) or he/she does not undergo a Health Examination, he/she will be deleted from the Final List and his/her position will be offered to the next candidate on the Final List.
(d) The Ministry of Defence will send the latest information on the dates of the Sports and Military Tests.
(e) During the Sports and Military Tests, candidates must provide a recent (not issued more than 2 months before the start date of the Sports and Military Tests) a medical certificate (the Athletes’ Health Card will not be accepted) that they may take part in such Tests (together with their Identity Card). In case a candidate attends the Sports and Military Tests without the above, he/she will not be allowed to participate and will be excluded from the selection process. If the candidate fails in any of the above Tests, he/she is excluded from all other stages of the procedure.
(f) Please note that all candidates will undergo a rapid coronavirus test before they enter the venue where the Sports and Military Tests will be held. In case a candidate tests positive for COVID-19, arrangements will be made so as to participate in the tests at a later date. If a candidate tested positive for COVID-19 before the date of the Sports and Military Tests, he/she must notify the Ministry of Defence in advance, by sending the test result by email ([email protected]) and fax (fax no. 22807583).
