Minister of Defence | Priority is given to the upgrading and modernization of the Forward Defence Line – Photos
The Minister of Defence, Mr. Charalambos Petridis, accompanied by the Chief of the National Guard, Lieutenant General Democritus Zervakis, visited units and outposts of the National Guard in Nicosia.
During the visit, the Minister was informed about the mission and the role of the outposts, while he had the opportunity to talk with executives and conscripts who serve in the front line. During the visit, the Minister also saw the work of the outposts on the Advanced Defence Line (ADL).
At the same time, he inspected the living conditions of the soldiers and the measures taken because of the coronavirus.
Addressing the staff of the outposts, Mr. Petridis stressed that for the Ministry it is a priority to upgrade and modernize the Forward Defence Line (ADL).
Mr. Petridis’ visits are part of a series of visits – inspections across the ADL as well as other units of the National Guard.
