A ‘hostage-situation’ in Salem, Oregon has led to an exchange of gunfire involving police officers, killing several people and injuring several law enforcement officials, the local Sheriff’s Office said.
The Marion County Sheriff’s Office deployed the police force when he was informed of a possible ‘hostage-situation’ at a home in southeastern Salem. A police negotiator spoke with the suspect.
As the incident unfolded, there was an exchange of gunfire causing “several fatal injuries, including the suspect himself,” according to the Sheriff’s Office.
