The Houthis have seized a territory of more than 400 square kilometers from the Saudi-led coalition since their recent advance on the administrative borders of Yemen’s al-Bayda and Marib provinces in early July (see map).
Navigate on the interactive map by clicking on the icons for more information. The Houthi forces and their allies are shown in red, while the lands of the Saudi-led coalition appear in green.
According to Brigadier General Saree, a representative of the Armed Forces loyal to the Houthi government, the most violent clashes took place in the Soq Qaniya area, where rebel forces seized a large number of weapons, ammunition, vehicles and artillery systems left behind by fighters, loyal to the Saudi-backed Mansur Hadi government (see map).

Saudi Arabian sources say coalition airstrikes led by Saudi Arabia and Hadi forces have inflicted heavy casualties on the Houthis in recent clashes. According to reports, at least 50 Houthi fighters were neutralized in Saudi Arabia’s recent airstrikes in central and northern Yemen, as you can see on our interactive map. However, Saudi Arabian sources provide little evidence to support these allegations.

According to SouthFront, a Saudi-led coalition aircraft carried out 10 airstrikes in Qaniyah, 6 airstrikes in Radman, 2 in Hayran, 7 in Majzar and 10 in Khab and Shaaf (see map).
Clashes between Saudi forces and Ansar Allah (Houthi) continue in the northwest of Marib province.
On their part, the Houthis used unmanned Qasef-2K aircraft to strike operation and control rooms at Najran Airport and ammunition depots and warplanes hangars at King Khalid Air Base (see map).
On Friday, the Saudi-led coalition said that it had intercepted and destroyed four unmanned aerial vehicles loaded with explosives that were launched from Yemen to Saudi Arabia.
Yemen has been cut off almost entirely from the rest of the world since 2015, following a letter sent to the UN Security Council on March 26 of that year by members of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC). The request for support that the GCC received from the President of Yemen was a pretext for the former to launch a military campaign against Yemen for the reassignment of the pro-Saudi President Mansur Hadi. More than five years later, the people of Yemen remain trapped in a real hell on earth.
