Netflix’s decision to include the Famagusta series in its programming has caused a storm of reactions in the occupied territories, with President Ersin Tatar speaking of a distortion of history and insisting on the Turkish narrative of the peace operation.

The Cyprus issue never started in 1974, and the Cyprus “Peace Operation” in 1974 was essentially a military intervention that saved the Turkish Cypriots from genocide, Tatar pointed out.

After 50 years, peace continues in this troubled region, he added.

The leader of the pseudo-state emphasized the need for them to create distinct series to explain their own issues, while asserting that the Greek Cypriots are promoting their own agenda. They can influence some people, but their series must tell the truth, he said.

In fact, he was quick to accuse Greece on the occasion of Gaza, saying how the Jews spread their propaganda in the events of Gaza, where there is a Greek intervention in it.
