Turkish Energy Minister Fatih Donmez has announced that the Turkish Yavuz drilling ship will be located west of Cyprus from now on, stating that it is conducting the “Selcuklu 1” drilling.
In a statement on TVnet, the Turkish minister also said that Turkish research ships Barbaros and Oruc Reyes also continue their work in the Mediterranean, while the Fatih drilling rig currently located in Marmara is planning to sail in July to Black Sea so as to carry out its first drilling.
Asked if the oil market is affecting drilling and exploration activities, the Turkish minister said that ongoing projects will continue, but other projects will probably be suspended.
