Based on the decision made at the last meeting of the Defence Industry Executive Committee, the defence industry in Turkey and the Naval Forces Command have started working on the new National Aircraft Carrier.

The aircraft carrier is designed by the Office of Naval Projects Planning.

The new aircraft carrier, which Erdogan announced a year ago, will be built jointly with Spain, as was the amphibious assault ship TCG Anadolu.

In this context, the head of the Presidency of Defence Industries in Turkey, Haluk Görgün, together with the Commander of the Naval Forces, Admiral Ercüment Tatlıoğlu, visited the Planning Office.

According to information, the domestic aircraft carrier features a length of 285 meters, a beam of 68 meters, a displacement of 60 thousand tons, a speed of 25 knots, the COGAG propulsion system, and the STOBAR aircraft take-off/landing system.
