THEON SENSORS showcased state-of-the-art products to the global military community at the International Defence Exhibition IDEX 2023 held in Abu Dhabi on February 20-24.
In addition to systems such as the THERMÍS Thermal Sight, the MIKRON-D night vision binoculars, the NYX binoculars, and the ARGUS PANOPTES, which can be used both as a monocular and as binoculars, what attracted the attendees’ interest was the signing of a strategic partnership between THEON SENSORS and the International Golden Group (IGG), a leading defence and construction company – supplier to the UAE Armed Forces.
The said agreement was of special importance, followed by other agreements signed by giants of the European defence industry, such as Safran (France) and Escribano (Spain), for cooperation with the United Arab Emirates.

The new agreement concerns the company’s most advanced products with the company’s international partners’ joint participation in their design. Production is about to commence in late 2023.
It should be noted that as part of the overall cooperation with IGG, the first 2,000 binoculars have already been delivered, whose final production took place in Abu Dhabi at the IGG industrial site.
According to a relevant announcement, this agreement is a continuation of previous agreements and a culmination of the new phase of the company’s relations with the UAE.
In order to respond to the new needs of the UAE, but also due to the increased global demand for its products, THEON SENSORS, alongside the construction of a second factory in Koropi to be inaugurated in two months – which completes the investment in terms of factory infrastructure in Greece – is proceeding with the construction of a new factory in the UAE (in Abu Dhabi) through a joint company with IGG, thus proceeding rapidly with its international industrial footprint abroad.
At the same time, as stated by Mr. Christian Chadjiminas, President of EFA GROUP, THEON SENSORS SENSORS USA Inc., based in the USA, has just recently completed all the required procedures for technology transfer and relevant training in the framework of cooperation with EOTECH for a production line in Plymouth, Michigan, USA, which will serve the increased needs of the American market in night vision systems.
