As he mentioned, in this year’s Pancyprian Examinations, 7351 candidates initially applied for participation.
“Of these, 5318 claim access to Higher Education in Cyprus and Greece. With the current Distribution, 2809 places are available, of which 1757 are at the University of Cyprus, 870 at the Cyprus University of Technology, 94 at the Higher Hotel Institute of Cyprus and 88 in the Military Schools of Greece. The above numbers of places also include the supernumerary places that have been offered to the graduates of Technical Schools and Evening Schools,” he added.
Mr. Prodromou said that 7,295 candidates participated in the exams and 34,278 answer notebooks were received for a total of 53 access-graduation courses.
“In short, 34,278 papers were corrected. These were graded in accordance with the provisions of the relevant Legislation. Three hundred and ninety four teachers worked for the grading. Each answer book, which remained anonymous, was graded by two proofreaders. “In case there was a discrepancy larger than 10% between the two grades, the paper was re-assessed by a third examiner,” he noted.
