Through a statement of its spokesman, Ned Price, the State Department strongly condemned the anti-Semitic statements of Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan.

“The United States strongly condemns President Erdogan’s recent anti-Semitic remarks about Jewish people and considers them reprehensible,” the State Department said in a statement, urging President Erdogan and other Turkish leaders to abstain from such provocative statements which could cause further violence.

“We call on Turkey to join forces with the United States in its efforts to end the conflict. Anti-Semitic discourse has no place anywhere. The United States is deeply committed to fighting anti-Semitism in all its forms. We take seriously the violence that often accompanies anti-Semitism and the dangerous lies that hide it. We must always confront lies with facts and respond to hate crimes with justice,” Ned Price said in a statement.
