SCYTALYS SA has made an important move to commercialize MIMS Airborne in the international market, officially signing a Framework Agreement with the Indonesian company PT Dirgantara (PTDI).
The Agreement was signed on September 25-27, 2024, during the ADAS (Asian Defense & Security) Exhibition 2024, held at the World Trade Center in the capital of the Philippines, Manila.
The agreement concerns the installation and completion of the Mission System
MIMS (Mission Information & Management System) Airborne on CN-235-220 aircraft, manufactured by the Indonesian company. The SCYTALYS – PTDI partnership initially aims to develop a solution for Aircraft of Naval Cooperation, that will cover the needs of the Philippine Navy to carry out maritime patrol, surveillance, deterrence, and protection missions of the EEZ.
The CN-235-220 MPA/ASW aircraft will also enhance the capabilities of the Philippine Navy in the control of the Archipelago and in anti-submarine warfare operations. The SCYTALYS MIMS Airborne Mission System has already been tested and installed in the Greek Naval Cooperation Aircraft P3 Orion of the Hellenic Navy.
According to SCYTALYS, MIMS Airborne integrates and utilizes sensors such as SAR/ISAR, EO/IR, ESM, EW/ELINT, ASW/ACINT, weapons interfaces, data link systems, AIS, and ADS-B transceivers, as well as the aircraft’s navigation system.
“SCYTALYS with this collaboration will strengthen the role of CN235 as a modern solution, meeting the growing demands for multi-role platforms for surveillance, maritime patrol, and SAR,” said Dimitris Karantzavelos, President of SCYTALYS.
“The MIMS Airborne Mission System of SCYTALYS in combination with PTDI’s CN235 offers a unique solution for efficient MPA/ASW assignments. PTDI and SCYTALYS will work closely together, not only to meet the requirements of the Philippines but also to meet the requirements of MPA/ASW from other countries’. “We are intensifying our efforts to make the CN235-220 more competitive, aimed at securing new export contracts,” said Gita Amperiawan, CEO of PTDI.
