Following the successful completion of the modernization of two Hellenic Army vehicles to the VBL Ultima level – which DEFENCE ReDEFiNED was thoroughly briefed on at the company’s premises in St. Nazaire- ARQUUS DEFENSE proposes the SABRE special operations vehicle to meet operational needs in wheeled platforms of the National Guard and the Hellenic Army.
The SABRE is a 4×4 light tactical vehicle, which can perform special operations missions and mainly covers the operational requirements of Special Forces. In particular, the vehicle in question is designed to support battlefield reconnaissance, rapid assault, and fire support missions.

The SABRE is the export version of the Heavy Vehicle for Special Forces (VLFS) SHERPA, currently in service with the French Special Forces. The vehicle in question is evaluated as an extremely agile platform offering high mobility in extreme conditions, while its modular design allows the integration of various weapon systems, according to the user’s needs.
Indicatively, the company proposes the vehicle in a configuration that carries three 7.62 mm light machine guns, and one 12.7 mm machine gun, while the system can also operate as a carrier of anti-tank missiles. Also, SABRE is equipped with various Command, Control, Communications, Computers (C4) Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) systems (C4ISR).
The vehicle’s software is ARQUUS’ Battlenet, while the platform incorporates an automatic central tire inflation system (CTIS), a battery management system as well as a “run-flat” capability, ensuring the vehicle’s mobility up to 50 km in case of serious damage.

Regarding the vehicle’s level of protection, it offers ballistic protection according to CEN 1063 and STANAG 4569 standards, while its modular and scalable armor also protects the crew from mine and improvised explosive device (IED) attacks.
The system in question can be airlifted by both A400M and C-130 military transport aircraft.
