The take-off took place from a runway at the factory, which develops the bomber in Kazan, and was broadcast live on state television.
The Tu-160M has a crew of four and the ability to carry 12 cruise missiles or 12 short-range nuclear missiles. The flight range is 12,000 kilometers.
