Today Russia added the President of the International Criminal Court (ICC), Poland’s Piotr Hofmanski, to the wanted persons list, without however clarifying the reason.

The above is wanted as part of a criminal investigation, the Interior Ministry said in its database of wanted persons in Russia, according to state news agencies Tass and Ria Novosti.

The ICC issued an arrest warrant against Vladimir Putin in the spring for his role in the forced transfer of children from Ukraine to Russia.

Although Russia is not a member of the ICC, the Russian President is consequently prevented from traveling internationally because of this threat of arrest. So he was forced not to attend the summit of the BRICS countries held in South Africa last August.

Since May, Moscow has put ICC prosecutor, Karim Khan, on its wanted list.

Vladimir Putin and his commissioner for children, Maria Lvova-Belova, are accused by the ICC of a war crime due to the “illegal transportation” of thousands of children from Ukraine.

Moscow denies the accusations.
