This visit follows the recent visit of another Greek Defence Industry delegation coordinated by SEKPY, the Association of Hellenic Manufacturers of Defence Material, on 15 March.
The purpose of this visit was to identify new opportunities in Naval Group’s global Supply Chain for Greek companies in addition to the discussions taking place in the context of the negotiations already underway.
It was also an opportunity to showcase the construction progress of the first FDI HN KIMON-class frigate and the progress of the second Gowind corvette for the UAE Navy.
On the same day, the commitment of the Naval Group was underlined by the signing of a cooperation agreement with HDS (HELLENIC DEFENCE SYSTEMS), a member of the HASDIG association.
The agreement is the first milestone for the implementation of a parts assembly line in Greece for the Navy’s FDI HN program and for Gowind HN, if selected by the Greek authorities.
These visits and this new agreement confirm Naval Group’s commitment to developing its footprint in Greece, underlined by the creation of the Greek subsidiary Naval Group Hellas.
The development of Naval Group’s Hellenic Industrial Participation (HIP) plan, which could be significantly expanded with the possible selection of Gowind® by the Greek authorities, is a significant advantage for Greece in terms of returns and the ability to transfer know-how to the Greek defence industry, which is recognized for its high level of expertise.
To date, more than 50 contracts have been signed by Naval Group with approximately fifteen (15) different Greek companies, according to Naval Group officials.
