On Friday, the Canadian Ministry of Defence announced that the five Canadian Armed Forces members, missing after the CH-148 Cyclone helicopter crashed in the Mediterranean on Wednesday during a NATO mission, are “presumed deceased”.
The body of a 23-year-old Canadian female Armed Forces member was found shortly after the accident.
A statement from the Canadian Ministry of Defence via twitter said that the crew of the HMCS Fredericton frigate held a vigil to honor their shipmates lost while on duty and that the ship is on its way to the port.
