National Guard | Live fire with Refleks anti-tank missile by T-80 tanks – VIDEO & Photos

Targets at sea were engaged with Refleks anti-tank missiles by National Guard’s  T-80U tanks. The live fire drills were held between December 9-10, 2020.

The Refleks 9M119M anti-tank missile has a tandem hollow-charge warhead and weighs about 17 kgs. It can be fired through the 125mm smoothbore gun of the tank with a range between 4500-5000 meters. 

The missile is guided to the target by the modulated laser beam steered by the tank gunner. The speed of the missile is 350 meters per second with a maximum flight time of 17.69 seconds and it can penetrate up to 900 millimeters of steel.

The live fire took place at Zygi Shooting Range and it was the culmination of the armor branch basic training, for the 2020 class of hoplites.

The Chief of the National Guard, Lieutenant General Demokritos Zervakis, visited the drill and embraced the high level of training and morale of the Armored Units personnel. During the activity, the necessary measures were taken to comply with the provisions of the decrees of the Ministry of Health to prevent the spread of COVID – 19.
