From 23 October to 03 November 2022, personnel of the Special Forces Command of the National Guard participated in a basic static line training of paratroopers, which took place in Israel within the framework of the Cyprus – Israel Bilateral Defence Cooperation Program.

The training focused on the handling and safe operation of a static line parachute, aircraft ejecting techniques as well as the certification of trainees in jumps with or without a combat load and the award of the paratrooper specialty.

The participation of the National Guard in this specific training significantly contributes to the increase of its operational capabilities in conducting Special Operations and gaining experience for further collaborations with paratroopers of other states. In addition, the conduct of training activities along with the implementation of the Defence Cooperation Program between Cyprus and Israel reflect the excellent cooperation between the Armed Forces of the two countries.
