MEDOUSA 11 | Completion of major aeronautical exercise – Photos and VIDEO

The major aeronautical exercise “MEDOUSA 11” conducted in the region of Crete has been completed with the participation of Greece, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates and the Republic of Cyprus (RoC). 

On Distinguished Visitors day, the Minister of Defence of the RoC, Charalambos Petridis and the Chief of the National Guard General Staff (GEEF), Lieutenant General Democritus Zervakis, were present. In his statements, the Minister of Defence stressed the importance of this exercise as it further strengthens the cooperation of the RoC with countries in the wider region so as to address common threats, based on international law and the law of the sea.

The participants were trained in a variety of scenarios. Cyprus participated for the 5th time in Exercise “MEDOUSA” with the Offshore Patrol Vessel (OPV) “Commodore IOANNIDIS”, the Underwater Demolition Team and Officers of the Navy Command of GEEF at the Exercise’s Command and Control Staff.
