Two new state-of-the-art Escape Defense 38-type inflatable boats were donated to the Hellenic Army and the 96th Higher Command of National Guard Battalions (ADTE) by the Maria Tsakos Foundation.

The ceremony took place in Kardamyla, Chios, in the presence of the Chief of the Hellenic Army General Staff, Lieutenant General Georgios Kostidis, the local authorities, and a large crowd.

The Escape Defence 38 boats are 11.8 meters long and 3.2 meters wide. They have two outboard engines, can operate in adverse weather conditions with high waves and have great maneuverability

In addition, they have a closed wheelhouse, sail at a speed of 47 miles per hour, can carry 13 commandos, and will join forces with the 96 ADTE Engineer Battalion.

The Chief of the Hellenic Army General Staff thanked Captain Panagiotis Tsakos and his family for their long-term contribution to the Armed Forces of the country.
