The Lithuanian government will give Ukraine 4,500 drones this week, which it is also buying for its own armed forces. The Lithuanian Minister of Defence reported about this on the X network.

I am proud to share that Lithuania is sending 4,500 drones worth 5 million euros to Ukraine this week.

In addition, during the last Government meeting, we approved a new faster procedure for transferring state assets. These changes will significantly reduce the time required for procedures, ensuring that aid reaches Ukraine faster.

Lithuania stands with Ukraine!

The drones that will be transferred to Ukraine are manufactured by Lithuanian companies Dangolakis, RSI Europe, Ltmiltech, Granta Autonomy, and Unmanned Defence Systems. The drones will be delivered in a fully assembled form, which will reduce the time of transfer to combat units and preparation for flight.

Prior to the purchase, the Ministry of Defence conducted the tests of Lithuanian combat drones in Ukraine in conditions as close to combat as possible. The Defence Minister also noted that at its last meeting, the government had approved a new accelerated procedure for the transfer of state property.

The Lithuanian Armed Forces will receive more than 2,300 drones in addition to Ukraine. The purchase is worth €3 million.

30,000 drones will be sent to Ukraine after £45 million worth of contracts were placed by the International Drone Capability Coalition, co-led by the UK and Latvia, as the UK steps up leadership and supports Ukraine in 2025. Funding for the new 30,000 drones comes from the UK, Denmark, Netherlands, Latvia, and Sweden.
