Libya | Joint military training with the Turkish Army in Constantinople

20/08/2022

The Turkish Ministry of Defence has released photographs from a joint military training of the Libyan Armed Forces and the Turkish Army. The training focused on infantry items, consisted of theoretical and practical parts and was held at a training center in Tuzla, Constantinople.

The transitional government under Fathi Bashagha is currently in power. The said government was also accepted by Khalifa Haftar even though it participated in the Saraj government with which Turkey signed the illegal “Turkish-Libyan memorandum” on the delimitation of the EEZ between the two countries. Bashagha himself is thought to maintain relations with Turkey and the Muslim brotherhood, while the military relationship between the two countries is apparently maintained too.
