The ongoing illegal Turkish activities in Cyprus’ EEZ, the EU-Turkish relations and the latest developments in the wider Eastern Mediterranean and the Middle East will be the focus of the meeting between Foreign Minister Nikos Christodoulides and the High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice President of the European Commission Josep Borrell.
The meeting will take place at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs tomorrow afternoon, in the context of a two-day visit by Mr.Borrell in Cyprus on June 25 and 26.

According to an announcement made by the Foreign Minister, after the end of their meeting, Mr. Christodoulides and Mr. Borrell will attend extended consultations with the participation of official delegations from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the European External Action Service.
The ongoing consultations are expected to focus on Turkey’s ongoing illegal activities in the maritime zones of the Republic of Cyprus and the wider context of the EU’s relations with Turkey in this light. The latest developments in the wider Eastern Mediterranean and the Middle East as well as other topical issues related to the formation and implementation of the EU’s Common Foreign and Security Policy, including the Permanent Structure Cooperation (PESCO) will be discussed.

The Foreign Minister and the High Representative will make statements to the press at 18:30.
