The police are looking for the perpetrator – among the 424 suspects arrested – of the attack that took place at the end of the Olympiakos-Panathinaikos volleyball match. The investigation is being carried out while the police officer who suffered a thigh injury by a naval flare during the incidents outside the “Melina Mercouri” stadium in Renti is being treated in the ICU of the Nice General Hospital.

Below, you can read a shocking letter regarding the incident as well as the “complaint” of the Security Forces against the State.

The letter

“No, gentlemen, keep your money, your allowances, and the risky and everything you promise, because this job doesn’t pay anything when the price is your life itself.

Yes, since day one, all of us have consciously or subconsciously reconciled with the fact that at some point we may not return home.

Some, of course, of the right mindset, preferred the security of the office, since the state does not reward those who put themselves in danger.

So those of us on the front lines envision that when that moment of ultimate sacrifice arrives, it will be to save a fellow human being or citizen from life-threatening danger or to stop a dangerous criminal.

HOWEVER, NONE OF US GOES TO A VOLLEYBALL MATCH BETWEEN TWO SPORT CLUBS TO DIE. NO ONE.

I read the medical bulletin and wept. For we in the platoons, gentlemen, are all one. Today the victim is me, tomorrow it’s you.

A service whose history has been written in blood and works only with the honor of its men. So those who fight for their lives in ICUs are the ones who saved democracy, the ones who kept the borders of the country safe, the ones who rushed into the fire, the ones you call when everyone else is unable to move forward.

But they are also the ones who “act” as the cones in spots, the targets of Molotov, stones, and all kinds of materials, the security guards in anonymous companies, the “nosy” in concerts and fairs. Because that’s how YOU chose to use them. DISDAIN from the state and the service. Give us our pride back, give us the respect we deserve.

All our prayers go to our brother to get well.

NEVER AGAIN”
