Greece – Cyprus Aeronautical exercise – Naval Cadets and Petty Officers’ joint training

On Thursday, August 04, 2022, a joint PASSEX (Passing Exercise) was conducted with the participation of units from the Hellenic Navy and the Cyprus Naval Command. Specifically, the exercise took place in the wider sea area south of the port of Limassol. 

The exercise was coordinated by the Joint Rescue Coordination Center (JRCC) of the Republic of Cyprus and was conducted with the participation of the Landing Ship Tank “IKARIA”, the Coastal Patrol Vessels “GEORGIOU” and “AMMOCHOSTOS”, the General Support Ship “ALASIA” and an AW-139 Helicopter of the 460 Search and Rescue Squadron of the Republic of Cyprus.

The joint training focused on communications, advanced maneuvers and Search and Rescue (SAR) exercises, contributing to the practical sea training of ​​both the Naval Cadets and Petty Officers as part of the Summer Training Program of the Naval Academy and the Petty Officers’ Academy respectively.
