The US company General Atomics and the Israeli company Rafael have announced the commencement of their cooperation on the development of a new long-range, and high-precision cruise missile in the United States, named “Bullseye”.
The missile will be based on Rafael’s fifth-generation “Ice Breaker” design.
«We are excited to work with Rafael to introduce Bullseye, a highly effective, deep-strike missile.»
“Bullseye” has reached Technology Readiness Level (TRL) 8. Level 10 indicates that the system is fully operational and has been demonstrated in real-world scenarios.
Rafael has already completed testing in key areas such as aerodynamics, engine performance, traceability, and integration with various launch platforms.
Notably, the new missile will be compatible with multiple launch systems, including fighter aircraft, helicopters,a variety of naval vessels, and ground vehicles. Its modular design enables the integration of different payloads and propulsion configurations, allowing adaptation to a wide range of missions.
The “Ice Breaker” missile, upon which “Bullseye” is based, is a fifth-generation missile already in production, with Rafael reporting approximately 1,200 units on order from undisclosed buyers.
Deliveries for these orders are expected to commence by the end of 2025.
