On Thursday, May 23, 2024, the Army Combat Groups Military Competition took place in the wider Stavrovouni region with the participation of personnel from both the in-service and reserve forces of the National Guard.
According to a relevant announcement of the National Guard General Staff (GEEF), its purpose was to evaluate the combat capability and interoperability of the participating Groups in conditions of fair and healthy competition.
Upon completion of the competition, the Chief of the National Guard, Lieutenant General Georgios Tsitsikostas, awarded honorary prizes to the winning Groups and congratulated all the personnel who participated or contributed to the successful organization and realization of the Competition.
The Military Competition is included among the actions taking place in the context of recognizing honor and paying respect to NCOs of the National Guard, as 2024 has been designated as the “Year of the NCO”.
