Two firefighting helicopters with their 18-member crew arrived in Cyprus from Jordan to support the Republic of Cyprus’ aerial firefighting.
According to an announcement issued by the Fire Service, the Ministry of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection announces an electronic open international tender for the procurement of three aircraft, which will operate as aerial operations and air surveillance centers with a budget of 23,336,000 euros.
As specified, the competent body for the operation and maintenance of the said aircraft will be the Ministry of National Defence and the Hellenic Air Force General Staff. It is worth noting that the project is financed by the European Union – NextGenerationEU within the framework of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan Greece 2.0″ as well as from the Public Investment Program through a loan from the European Investment Bank.
The final date for tender submissions is 23.11.2023, Thursday at 15:00.
