A milestone agreement was signed on June 16, 2022, by the Greek company EODH SA and the German KMW of the KNDS group, during the large Defence and Security exhibition EUROSATORY.
The agreement follows an already successful multi-year cooperation between the two companies (confirmed in the DEFEA exhibition last year) and concerns, inter alia, the strengthening of relations between the parties at a strategic level by securing the supply chain for a period of 5 years, something which is of utmost importance, especially at this period.
On behalf of EODH, the agreement was signed by its President, Mr. Andreas Mitsis, and on behalf of KMW, by Mr. Heinz Oestervoß, Vice Chairman of the Board and Procurement Manager of the company.
A milestone of the agreement is the fact that EODH will be responsible for the project management of the innovative solutions and cutting-edge technologies in the field of protection of tanks and armored vehicles, to the customers of the German manufacturer. Furthermore, through this agreement, a new Research and Innovation (R&D) department will be created for the further development of EODH ASPIS modular protection, which currently includes 3 levels (light, medium, heavy).
EODH innovative products in the field of protection will be the main choice of KMW for the further development of the Leopard-2 battle tank, but also in the upgrade packages of the existing Leopard tanks. The company’s stand at the EUROSATORY exhibition already presents a mockup of the advanced ASPIS Modular NG – MBT (ASPIS – Advanced Shielding Platform Integrated System) protection system, which is installed in a Leopard 2A4 turret and designed as a complete hybrid solution.
According to the company, this system combines passive and active protection modules in the front arc to counter modern threats, such as anti-tank missiles with tandem-charge warheads and the new generation of high-mobility APFSDS armor-piercing ammunition.
The agreement will also add further momentum to the first Greek-made 4×4 tactical vehicle built by EODH under the name “Hoplite”, through the joint exploration of new operational opportunities and a joint marketing campaign.
EODH’s strong presence at the Eurosatory Defence and Security Exhibition demonstrates the level of professionalism of the company and the quality of its products, something that has attracted international attention and interest. Watch the video below with the presentation of the company’s products at Eurosatory 2022, by EODH’s president Mr. Andreas Mitsis.
