This year, the water consecration ceremony was held in Piraeus, the first major port of the country, with particular splendor, in the presence of the Metropolitan of Piraeus & Faliro Mr. Seraphim, and of political and military leadership.

The said ceremony took place at 11:00 yesterday morning, on the wharf opposite the Holy Church of Agios Spyridon in Piraeus, where men of the Hellenic Special Forces Association dived and found the Holy Cross.

The mayor of Piraeus, Yiannis Moralis, emphasized that this year, like every year, the celebration of the Epiphany took place in the central port of the country, Piraeus, with particular splendor.

Mr. Moralis thanked the political and military leadership, while he wished farewell to the Archbishop of Athens and All Greece Hieronymus. He also expressed his wishes to all Greeks and all citizens of Piraeus.

Because of the ceremony held at the port of Piraeus, traffic regulations and route diversions in public transport were in force.
