The US Army has successfully conducted a test launch of its new hypersonic missile system, “Dark Eagle,” after two years of delays.
A milestone agreement was signed today by the Greek EODH with KNDS Deutschland (formerly known as KMW) during the 3rd day of the international defence and security exhibition EUROSATORY 2024, which is taking place in Paris.
The said agreement amends an existing one which was concluded in 2021 between the two partners and would be in force until 2032. With today’s amendment, the agreement’s validity extends until 2035.
The main point of reference is the integration of the Advanced Integrated Platform Protection System (ASPIS Modular NG-MBT) in the Leopard 2 battle tank, so that the new A8 version will henceforth be offered with it.
ASPIS NG, an entirely Greek product, was developed by EODH based on previous German know-how expertise in order to respond to the new type of threats that have appeared on the modern battlefield.
The 2035 timeframe is not accidental, as within this period the development of the next-generation Main Ground Combat System (MGCS) is expected.

Having 25 years of continuous export activity, EODH also presented on its stand snapshots of recent successful tests of ASPIS NG against top attack threats.
With the existing technological capital, acquired from the Greek company’s long-term participation in the production of LEO 2A7/8, Boxer and PUMA in survivability areas, as KMW’s preferred partner, the signed agreement is a culmination of the innovation it offers in the demanding developments in the field of armored vehicles in Greece, Europe and the Middle East.
