ELVO 2020 S.A. strengthens its position in the national ecosystem of companies active in the development and production of defence material with its membership in the Hellenic Aerospace Security & Defence Industries Group (HASDIG).
Completing two and a half years since the change of the company’s ownership and the start of its operation, and having received the certification of the Special Regulation of Industrial Security from the Ministry of National Defence in July, this development confirms the company’s commitment to stable growth that yields national dividend, to serving the Greek defence and civil protection needs in terms of vehicles as well as to the overall progress of the domestic defence industry.
Joining the Union confirms this stable orientation, noted the Director General of ELVO, Dimitrios Angelopoulos.
The President of HASDIG, Mr. Papatsas, welcomed ELVO which, with its long-lasting experience and renewed, advanced capabilities, can essentially contribute to the Greek industry to successfully position itself in the challenges of the new era that is taking shape at the level of special-purpose vehicles.
The goal of the Union is to create conditions that assist the 33 member companies in the exchange of know-how and the development of innovation with export value, and hopefully, ELVO will play an active role in this process, said Mr. Papatsas.
In February 2021, the company, following an international tender, was transferred to the Consortium of SK Group & Plasan companies. Headquartered in Sindos, Thessaloniki, the facilities of ELVO 2020 have a total area of 273,000 sq.m., of which 66,000 sq.m. are indoor production, testing and storage facilities, ranking it among the largest companies of its kind in Southern Europe.
The company is active in special adaptations, upgrades, repairs and tests of all types of special-purpose wheeled or crawler vehicles, for civilian or military use.
