The total funding for these projects amounts to approximately 38 million euros. The European Union will allocate 158 million euros for 26 projects as a result of all 12 invitations published in 2020.

The success of Cyprus companies, by participating in five programs in 2020, is a continuation of the successful efforts of 2020, where five proposals were selected (EDIDP 2019) with the participation of Cyprus companies. This proves that Cyprus can make a substantial contribution to the development of European defence capabilities. The participation of companies will contribute to the development of domestic defence research, innovation, and technology while creating new job opportunities.

In an announcement, the Minister of Defence, Mr. Charalambos Petridis, warmly congratulated those who contributed to this success and especially the Federation of Employers and Industrialists, the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and the Cyprus Association of Research and Innovation Enterprises, while he thanked all those involved in this endeavor for the cooperation and support they offer to the further establishment and development of the sector, which in turn contributes to the operational upgrade of the National Guard.
