On March 15, 2024, UAE’s EDGE Group completed the inaugural test flight of JENIAH, an Unmanned Combat Aerial Vehicle (UCAV), at its testing facility, X RANGE, in Abu Dhabi.

The test underscored the UCAV’s sophisticated autonomous operational functionalities and, among others, cruise capability at a velocity of 1,050 km/h.

The JENIAH is the first UCAV of EDGE Group to be equipped with a jet engine, signalling a breakthrough in aerial combat capabilities. This development, according to an announcement, positions EDGE Group at the forefront of innovative unmanned aerial systems, enhancing the potential for advanced operational strategies in modern warfare.

Engineered for covert operations, the JENIAH is capable of performing autonomous or in-group formations (swarming) to fulfill a range of mission types, such as offensive strikes, surveillance, and ground forces support.
