The UK Ministry of Defense has announced that construction has begun on the third Type 31 frigate for the Royal Navy…
Over the course of its 10-year activity, Amstone International Group has become the go-to partner for many companies interested in solutions and improving performance.
Amstone is a company dedicated to defence trade solutions and consists of a diverse consultant experts’ team with extensive experience in their respective area of expertise. According to the company, many of its consultants are qualified in aviation project management and defence contracts and procurement.
This allows the company to support potential businesses by taking over the role that is most suitable for the specific situation and the challenges it faces, enabling it to act as a strategic advisor or a specialist. Specifically, the personnel holds the position of project manager or – if required – shadow manager, that is, an expert with senior operational experience introduced into a business to share decision-making duties with the CEO.
At the same time, Amstone can also take on the role of mediator in all aspects of the defence and aviation industry in its worldwide offices across the USA, the UAE, the UK, France, Greece, Egypt and Poland. Moreover, Amstone provides a variety of defence solutions such as drones and UCAVs, guided and unguided systems, rockets and missiles, aircraft and helicopters, R&D and transfer of technology, maintenance and upgrade, as well as spare parts and modernisation kits.
To that end, Amstone has found a valuable and close partner in Cyprus, that is Swarmly LTD, Cyprus’s largest manufacturer of category 2 and 3 VTOL UAVs and maritime USVs with customers in more than a dozen countries and hundreds of units deployed in the field mainly in Ukraine. Amstone seeks to broaden its UAS portfolio with Swarmly’s best-seller, combat-proven UAVs, while Swarmly found a partner to broaden its exporting horizons.
On that basis, in Amstone’s pavilion, we witnessed, among other systems, a mock-up of H12 POSEIDON’s next-gen VTOL Unmanned Aerial System and USV B5 Hydra.
H12 POSEIDON
H12 POSEIDON is designed for surveillance and combat scenarios with an operational range of 150 km, mastering Extended Visual Line of Sight operations (EVLOS). Its encrypted RSTA broadcasting is considered top-tier, while its unique advantage lies in the fact that it is designed to operate in GNSS-denied environments under rough weather conditions.
Further, the H12 features an adaptive payload system capable of firing either a Black Scorpion torpedo, six 80 mm bombs or even four 82/81 mortar shells from high altitudes by acquiring aerial imaging capabilities by means of an EO/IR gimbal.
B5 Hydra
B5 Hydra is a project carried out in collaboration with the Italian Leonardo within only 3.5 months. With a payload capacity of 600 kg and a maximum speed of 85 knots, B5 Hydra allows the installation of a LIONFISH 12.7 Ultralight mount without deck penetration (catamaran type). The vessel is armed with a Browning 12.7 mm M2HB heavy machine gun, weighing less than 180 kg without ammunition.
Alternatively, the B5 Hydra can also be used in “kamikaze” mode with its two hulls filled with explosives, while Swarmly and Leonardo seek to expand its armament configuration with the Black Scorpion lightweight torpedo. At this point, it should be mentioned that Swarmly’s Poseidon UAV family can act as an intermediate connection and communication hub by relaying to 14 B5 Hydras, a novelty among its peers.
