We want a solution to the Cyprus problem that is fully compatible with our capacity as a member state of the European Union and on the basis of UN resolutions, said the Minister of Defence, Charalambos Petridis, at a service award event of Hellenic Force in Cyprus (ELDYK) personnel.

Mr. Petridis said that the goal and priority for the President of the Republic and the Government is to move forward with national unity and prudence in the hope that our country will live better days.

The Minister of Defence expressed the deep gratitude of the Cypriot state to the Greek government and the entire Greek people, for the very important work performed by the members of ELDYK over time with their presence here.

“The inextricable ties between Cyprus and Greece have been forged over the centuries, sealed with sacrifices and stained with blood in an effort to defend the high ideals and values of the nation.
