Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Cavusoglu confirmed that he will be in Athens on May 31 for his meeting with his Greek counterpart Nikos Dendias, according to Turkish media.
Meanwhile, the Turkish newspaper Milliet reports today that the Turkish Foreign Minister is going to Athens aiming at a fruitful discussion, while the two Ministers will discuss the articles for which the technical committees have not reached an agreement during their exploratory contacts. However, the decision to hold the 63rd round of exploratory contacts will be taken by Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan and Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis.
According to Milliet, however, the two ministers will prepare for a meeting between Erdogan and Mitsotakis on June 14 on the sidelines of the NATO Summit.
Ankara also wants to raise the issue of the Eastern Mediterranean, islets, continental shelf, airspace, maritime responsibilities, the islands’ demilitarization and status, the problems facing the Aegean in general and the Muslim minority in Thrace.
